This week on my journeys I have noticed many people out watering their lawns. At this time of year grass is still in its dormancy, with spring only 2 weeks old and temperatures still below 20 degrees thus ensuring soil temperatures have not even come close to awaking the root systems on plant life. Brown lawns are not dead lawns, watering brown lawns at this time of year is not going to green up your lawn. When temperatures hit 20 consistently your lawn will slowly begin to awake from its winter time slumber. The leaf will gradually start to stand up at this point grab a bag of urea and apply following the watering instructions and application rates. In the meantime save your water, save your money, plant your vege and herb gardens and water them instead.
